Downloading media shouldn't feel like the '00s

Nythor exists because every other downloader online is either covered in ads, riddled with fake 'download' buttons, or looks like it hasn't been touched since 2011.

What Nythor does

Paste a link from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or any of the other platforms we support, and Nythor extracts the highest-quality video, audio, or image formats available — directly through yt-dlp, the same open-source extraction engine trusted by millions of developers. No pop-ups, no fake buttons, no watermarks.

Why we built it

We got tired of downloader sites that bury a single working button under a dozen ad-injected decoys. Nythor is built the way a tool like this should have looked from day one: fast, dark, legible, and honest about what it can and can't do — which is also why our supported-platform list only includes sources we can actually extract from reliably, instead of a long list for marketing purposes.

How it works

Nythor runs on Next.js with a Node.js backend that shells out to yt-dlp for extraction, caches repeat lookups in Redis, and streams downloads back through our own server so your browser never has to fight a source CDN's CORS or referrer policy. Your history and favorites are stored locally in your browser — we don't require an account to use the core product.

What we don't do

We don't host or mirror any content ourselves, we don't log which URLs you download, and we don't sell data. See our Privacy Policy and Fair Use Policy for the specifics.
